Dining @ Central and Prawn Fishing @ Bottle Tree Park

All thanks to sweetie BE for bringing me all the way to Central for dinner as i wanted to go there and try Marutama Ramen which thoughtful Junie has recommended, she really knows my taste.
The carpark is not very user friendly, we had to drive up all the way up to the 9th floor for a lot - this is the same floor as my house lor. As we were both hungry, we went straight in search of Marutama Ramen located on the 3rd floor. There is a relatively long queue but luckily we managed to get seats in a short time coz those ppl in front of us came in groups and they only have counter seat for two which is just nice for us. Thats the good thing having dinner with lesser ppl.

The place is opened and served by mostly Japanese, even those who are not Japanese can speak the language fluently. The whole setting is so cool and it really reminds us of our Japan trip last year. We ordered two Marutama Ramen with Ajitsuke Tamago (seasonal egg) - One with Kakuni (Pork Bellies) and the other with Char Siu. While waiting for our dinner, we saw that they automate the way they cook Ramen. The strainer which contains the Ramen will automatically lift up once it is cooked. Something interesting.... Maybe i can introduce this to those popular hawkers at Amoy Street so that they can streamline their process and do their work more efficiently.

On the whole, it doesnt taste as good as i expect - it is a little salty and expensive. I will prefer the soup base to be pork broth instead of chicken. Anyway although i will not go there in near future, it is still worth a try.
We went to shop around and saw this nice Nipponya selling nice and "looks delicious" Japanese snacks. I was mesmerized by the window display and tempted to purchase at least one back home but when i looked at the price, it is takai (exp) man. It doesnt take me so much to buy the same thing if i were to purchase in Japan. So in the end, i left empty handed. Then we came across mini donut and croissant shop...wanted to buy some but realise that we only had about $4.50 cash in total. So we went in search for ATM and got to know that the nearest is either at Chinatown or Liang Court --- aiyo it is so far.... Ultimately, we bought the croissants only which cost $2.80.
Happy with my purchase, we went upstairs to take a peak at the Singapore River night view... Then i saw Hokkaido ice cream shop. Argh!!!! it is such an agony looking at the ice cream and the cash on hand and I really regretted purchasing the croissants. Anyway BE had promised to bring me there again for the ice cream. This time round, I will make sure i have ample cash in my wallet.

Wanted to pay our godson a visit but he was at his maternal granny place so we decided to check out the prawn fishing @ Bottle Tree Park located at Sembawang or opposite Yishun stadium since the night is still young. Nice place for prawning next time but it is a pity that it closes early at about 12am.

Practising Work-Life Balance

In order to balance my life, i will always chose to go for weekend recreational activities which doesnt require much thinking so that i can just relax and prepare for a new week. This is the main reason why i am behind time for my wedding preparations. This month, we are supposed to finalise design for our future room, have our ring design ready @ fairy's inc, confirm our studio photographer, go for first bridal fitting this friday and chose a JP.

Looking for JP is quite a tricky task as we cannot confirm if he/ she looks presentable, is professional, can communicate both in English and Mandarin, etc before we decide to chose them. Initially i kind of like this JP Mr Chan whom i read very good comments about him while browsing bridal forum but i change my mind after viewing a clip on him solemnising a couple which i happen to chance upon. He doesnt seem to be as impressive as how others describe so i decided to drop him off as one of my shortlist.

Got my bro who is an interior designer to check out our future room on Sat, was impressed by his professionalism and seriousness at work as i never knew he has such qualities in the past. He gave us his precious advice on the design we initially wanted so that we can fully utilise space and still make the room look spacious with our needs in mind.

Went prawn fishing later in the evening and spent $43 on each rod to fish for 4 hours. Both BE and me were down on luck as we only managed to catch 4 (one of them is named Handy as BE caught it using his bare hands) after three hours. On the contrary, Dar and Ah Di caught about 30+, they are SO lucky and this makes us so jealous and demoralised.
At the very last hour, we decided to change our fishing spot and this tremendously improved our luck. In the end, Dar and Ah Di caught 38 while me and BE had 34 including 20 prawns contributed by brother.

We couldnt resist eating it on the spot so we borrowed the pit from the chicken wing stall owner and BBQ the prawns ourselves. I stuffed 14 in and felt so queasy after that. Cannot imagine how Dar can have 30+ at one go..............
Being a 4D fan, we went to buy 3834 for Sunday and the third prize turns out to be 3832. Argh..... how i wish we caught 2 prawns lesser so as to be a few hundreds dollars richer.

Today, me and Ah Di went for PSP seaching together with the guys after our yoga class. Bot it @ $395, felt so happy as i got a new gadget so that i can play the interesting monkey game which qiao has and BE can use this to keep himself occupied while waiting for me after work - Killing two birds with one stone.

Back to my normal self

Finally i am back to my normal self - no troubles and worries, able to do things i like, spend time with those whom i love, sleep as i wish as I am no longer alone. Thanks to those who were there for me =)

Had a long weekend - Good Friday and Easter Day. Ate Easter Rabbit biscuit specially bought by taya from Marks and Spencer on Thurs, it is so yummy - taste like digestive biscuits with vanilla cream.

Together with others, we went 爱丽斯's house for a visit after work on Thurs. Had a sumptuous meal at the coffeeshop near her place and were treated with three different desserts at her house - Hashima with ginseng, chempedak cake and brownie. We were trying real hard to find out whats hashima made of... some of us guess it is frog's spe*m and others tot it is their saliva.. Finally got to know the answer from mama that it is actually frog's intestine. Didnt manage to eat the last dessert as BE had arrived to pick me up to go cycling.....

I sat on his bike and he cycled me to Dar's place, felt so sweet and romantic along the way although my b*tt hurts after some time. Then, we cycled to East Coast jetty to fish. Had problems casting the line as it will get "junk-co" (some fishing term indicating that the line got stuck to the sea bed) most of the time. Fell asleep while fishing as we caught nothing after 3 hours. It was fun even though we got nothing in the end as this is the thing which we missed out doing during our courtship days.

On Fri, we went for Easter high tea @ Merchant Court with mama. Nicer spread as compared to the lunch but too bad, they only serve durian puffs instead of the yummy durian puree during high tea. To ease my craving, i scrape out the filling and leave the puff untouched. =) At night, we went Sembawang/ Khatib intending to try prawn fishing at this new and beautiful place Bottletree.... but it was closed. So sad.... Will check it out again another time.
