It is an annual routine during CNY to see lion dance in the office to bring luck to the company and i will always buy the lucky number which is display at the lobby but always never strike 4D. =)

Year End Appraisal Time

It is time of the year again for all employees to write their own review and for their managers to gauge their performance for the entire year... Not really looking forward as it will mean that another year has passed. It seems like i do not much to write about myself - does this mean that i didnt perform well or i am not a good promoter for myself???? Time really flies, this is my third review, my third year in the company liao leh....

Anyway today i went back niang jia for dinner, sumptuous home-cooked food on a weekly wednesday, and found that my doggie Scotty is sick so i put a blanket over him to keep him warm. He looks so ke lian....

Why at this time??????

I have been slogging since the beginning of the month, working 10-13 hours almost everyday till i dont even dare to make appointments with friends after work to give out my invites...... Not enough time to prepare for wedding and still have to work like hell.

Monday soon........... =(

5.6km JPMorgan Corporate Challenge

The heavy rain in the afternoon dampen my mood to go for the corporate challenge as it will dirty my New Nike shoes. Didnt really wear it ever since i bot last year and now i have to wear and step on those muddy puddle. So Xin Tong =)

We didnt manage to catch the chartered bus there all bcos of her.... So angry, she is simply unreasonable and has serious attitude problem. From this incident, I have learnt to be less nasty to those service providers going forward. Those who have read this, please remind me from time to time ok?

Back to the run, I didnt expect many ppl to turn up given such bad weather conditions. As usual, you will see alot of different companies especially financial institutions participating in this event. We missed the start "On your mark, get set, Go!" by the time we reached there... By the way, when i was young, i tot that it sounded like "Alamak, get set, Go!" Was real puzzled at that pt of time as i dont understand why they have to say something like that before the competition starts. Haha Me and my funny english interpretation again.

The 5.6km route started off from Esplanade Drive to Ritz Carlton and all the way down to Concourse area before we make a Uturn and back to Padang. On the whole i only ran the first km then walked throughout the remaining journey and this took me an hour. Those gurkas were like Walt Disney road runner, they only took abt 17 mins to complete the race and i catched a glimpse of them near Ritz - they are making their way back to the finishing line while i am only abt 1 km away from the starting point.

Walking can be tiring as well so i decided to take out my phone and take some photos on the distance indicator and Singapore Flyer. From what i heard, it will be ready by end 2007 and the bookings are already full for the first six mths of operation.

Here's a picture to show how muddy it is at Padang and my shoes actually sink it when i stand on the same spot for too long.
After queuing extremely long for the post run goodie bag, i met up with Di for a short while before going back to the tent to enjoy the food and drinks. Had real fun there as a new colleague from another dept is trying to get us understand her Hokkien when she cannot speak well in this language. We tot she is scolding vulgarities initially when in actual fact, she is just saying that her dad stays on the eighth floor. This makes the joke of the day.
After those happy hours, we head back to office at about 8 plus to finish off some work. Salted vegetable life....

Work to live or live to work???

Bottomline is no work no money no life, thats why most people turn to 4D and Toto so that they can be millionaire overnight and wont have to face such agony. We can only change ourselves to suit the environment as it is difficult to change the environment to suit ourselves...

BE drew attention to me on the breakdown of time when we are awake.
Awake for 16 hours, spend 11 hours at work on average, 2 hours on travelling
We're only left with 3 miserable hrs for ourselves, our family and loved ones.

It will be worse if we are not happy with work, we will be depressed for more than half of our day, more than half of our lifetime. Now i finally understand why my friend can quit without a job as much as i asked her not to.

On Depressed Mode

The one & only me with lots of work and little assistance
Felt so lousy recently, trying very hard to control my emotions - in the end, i broke down while at work and got my tear machine activated. I simply hate that kind of feeling when people question on my efficiency, it is not that i dont want to help but i am really running on tight capacity and no one is lending their helping hand and have all those work, which requires their expertise, shove back to me.

Sometimes i just wonder..........................

• if i am unable to cope with stress or if this is really too much for me to handle?
• if i am inefficient or if i have too many things to do?
• if i am putting too much pressure on myself?
• if i am really suited for this job?
• if this is really what i want in life?

Busy Schedule

It is such a hectic month for me..... 24/7 not enough

• My team managing director on leave therefore i, as the asst MD, have to rush like mad every business day
• 小黑 going beautiful Japan to study for a year
• Colleague posted to Hong Kong permanently
• Cousin's birthday celebration this Sat @ Merchant court, i have not buy any present yet
• Brother coming back from India, need to find time to wash and polish his car else he will scream when he sees its current state

So many things to do, where can i find time to sort out my wedding stuff???
Still havent meet Lettherebelight to check out their package and then decide which studio photographer to take, havent got a chance to sit down with Fairy's Inc to discuss wedding bands design and havent research on places for honeymoon so as to book during Natas Fair. All these are supposed to be completed by end March.........
