Saturday Night out @ PS. Cafe, Yishun Dam & Jalan Kayu

Finally got a chance to go PS. Cafe yesterday as it is highly recommended by my colleague - Nice place to chill out but not much variety of food and drinks. This place reminds me of Bangkok [To Die For] restaurant located at H1 Place 98 55(Thonglor) Sukhumvit Rd where Bro brought me and parents to when we had our New Year Trip this year, except that it does not have those cosy beds for us to lie down to gaze at the stars. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, some champagne, beer and most importantly the mouth-watering Chocolaty Marshmallow Brownie with ice cream. It looks so sinful isnt it?

----> Map especially for qing

Then as usual, Dar will feel hungry so we went to Jalan Kayu to have our second round of food and drinks. Prior to that, Shanice suggested going to Yishun Dam where all the nice cars and bikes will go to show off their vehicle and test its power. It was crowded even at those wee hours. We managed to see the eye-catching stunt by one biker where he did a willy for a considerable long distance. Reached home only at about 4am and overslept for my yoga class..........

The Nail Loom Official Opening

So happy for Lisa that she got her own Nail bar - The Nail Loom, this comes just right as i can do my bridal manicure, pedicure there. The whole setting of the shop is so cosy and it is near my previous residence which makes it even more homely. She suggested that I can do my Hens' party there... Hmm can consider if my pocket allows me to....

You know what.... Her unit no 0115 strike the starters on the same day lor..... if i bought 4D, i could have won about $250 and will definitely consider the Hen's party suggestion...

It is so thoughtful of her to buy us doorgifts for the opening. Took a long time to decide which animal i want, i finally choose the elephant but lost that not long after i left the shop without knowing where i misplaced it. Forgetful me =(

Annual Corporate Challenge is here again

JPMorgan Annual Corporate Challenge is here again - 3rd of May
Quite excited as all of us can do recreational activities together and have free food and drinks after the event. This year, ah di and clarol's company also participate, so will get to see them as well. Yuppie =)
Got my Tshirt and runner tag - the tshirt looks nicer this year with dri-fit material and my number tag is 8959.. Just wonder if it will bring me luck? as i am going to buy 4D for Sat, Sun and Wed.... (typical auntie)

Shall try going to the gym and run on the threadmill this Sun after yoga classes so as to check on my limits and if i will pass out after running for too long. Stamina getting worse lah, so horrible.. Come to think of it, i can run a few kilometres three times a week during my vball training in Sec Sch.
Those were the days......

Happening lunch outing out of Shenton Way area

Travel all the way to Marina Square during lunch (feels like a mini excursion) so as to dine @ the place where we always wanted to try - Dian Xiao Er.... They are famous for their crispy roasted duck and it is really yummy. In order to please our stomach, we ordered one Dang Gui & one Shi Quan roasted duck, their in-house tofu and some other dishes. After lunch, we went to the nearby Killiney coffeeshop for drinks. Their coffee is highly recommended and ranked best coffee in Singapore by KH. Even though i am not a coffee lover, i tried their coffee thick after some persuasion. True enough, it tastes rather good.

Jay Chou makes me cry.......

Listen to the music on my blog which i just learnt from Zozo on how to create, this is the song which makes me tear each time i listen to it.
Another 4.5 months....
I will definitely miss my family especially Mama!

Reflections over life

Ever encounter moments whereby you will sit down and ponder if you are satisfied with your life now and if you will want to live like this forever?

Work to live or live to work???

Bottomline is no work no money no life, thats why most people turn to 4D and Toto so that they can be millionaire overnight and wont have to face such agony. We can only change ourselves to suit the environment as it is difficult to change the environment to suit ourselves...

BE drew attention to me on the breakdown of time when we are awake.
Awake for 16 hours, spend 11 hours at work on average, 2 hours on travelling
We're only left with 3 miserable hrs for ourselves, our family and loved ones.
It will be worse if we are not happy with work, we will be depressed for more than half of our day, more than half of our lifetime. Now i finally understand why my friend can quit without a job as much as i asked her not to.

Totally agree with BE................
Life is like a vacuum cleaner

It sucks! =)

The process of customising bridal gown and wedding bands

Did my first bridal fitting on Friday..... Tried on the pearl white wedding gown with tulle skirt first and it turned out to be loose. Mel (bridal designer) pinned up the excess and as expected, i got prick by the pins as I am too "chu lu". After which, she helped me put on the additional long satin skirt which i intend to have during solemnisation and dinner walk-in. Both of us were flabbergasted by the transformation - from a princessy feel to elegant touch. I must say that the additional cost is well spent. Next is my evening gown - we chose salmon pink (my fav colour), red and yellow to create similar flowy effect as what i shortlist from the bridal magazine but the red doesnt turn out to be as obvious as the pink and yellow. Anyway, on the whole, i am satisfied with both gowns.

After my fitting, we change our focus to the groom who is often neglected when he also contributes to the wedding fund. BE took his measurement for his suit... As much as he wanted a white suit, he chose a black one with satin collar in the end to match my black lace gown and also for practicality reasons. Scheduled second fitting date is on May 11.........

Next, we traveled down to Fairy's Inc to customise our rings. We like those vine designs and took a sample of UBS ang bao which has such prints for Evelyn, one of the pretty Fairy's Inc boss, to view. She extracted some designs and drew it on a sample ring for us to try on. The design will be embossed on the rings, champagne gold for BE and rose gold for me. We couldnt decide on the date which we will like to engrave on the rings - should it be 14 Aug (our dating and proposal date) or should it be one month and one day later - 15 Sept (our wedding date????) Fortunately, we still have some time to think and decide on it. The whole process took us about an hour plus and the finalised design is out all thanks for BE's precious input and Evelyn's dedicated effort.

Dragonfly Drinking Birthday Party

Rush like mad on Friday evening in order to enter Dragonfly for friend's brithday party and not having to pay for cover.

Birthday = Lots of Liquor = Dead Drunk

This is the common belief and motto for K7 gang. Till now, i havent seen any birthday boy sober on their birthday celebration. I pity their lungs man =) (it shld be liver instead - type in the wrong organ coz both starts with L... haha Thanks anonymous for highlighting) Cannot imagine how BE will be like during our wedding day.... Better start looking out for those miracle pills whereby it can keep him sober even after having lots of alcohol.

On top of the many bottles opened, birthday boy had waterfall, flaming, graveyard.... By midnight, he was already intoxicated and vomitted in the karaoke room. So yucky but luckily he didnt eat any strong-smelling food earlier that will make his puke stink. The most amazing and disgusting part of the night is they can vomit into the drinking jug and pass the same jug around for others to contain their puke. MJ started off first and passed the jug to Dar then birthday boy and back to MJ. Cannot imagine if they accidentally drank that thinking that it is water inside.... I will definitely faint if they were to do so.

The night ended at about 4am and all, except the girls and myself, went back to sleep with hangover the next day.

Practising Work-Life Balance

In order to balance my life, i will always chose to go for weekend recreational activities which doesnt require much thinking so that i can just relax and prepare for a new week. This is the main reason why i am behind time for my wedding preparations. This month, we are supposed to finalise design for our future room, have our ring design ready @ fairy's inc, confirm our studio photographer, go for first bridal fitting this friday and chose a JP.

Looking for JP is quite a tricky task as we cannot confirm if he/ she looks presentable, is professional, can communicate both in English and Mandarin, etc before we decide to chose them. Initially i kind of like this JP Mr Chan whom i read very good comments about him while browsing bridal forum but i change my mind after viewing a clip on him solemnising a couple which i happen to chance upon. He doesnt seem to be as impressive as how others describe so i decided to drop him off as one of my shortlist.

Got my bro who is an interior designer to check out our future room on Sat, was impressed by his professionalism and seriousness at work as i never knew he has such qualities in the past. He gave us his precious advice on the design we initially wanted so that we can fully utilise space and still make the room look spacious with our needs in mind.

Went prawn fishing later in the evening and spent $43 on each rod to fish for 4 hours. Both BE and me were down on luck as we only managed to catch 4 (one of them is named Handy as BE caught it using his bare hands) after three hours. On the contrary, Dar and Ah Di caught about 30+, they are SO lucky and this makes us so jealous and demoralised.
At the very last hour, we decided to change our fishing spot and this tremendously improved our luck. In the end, Dar and Ah Di caught 38 while me and BE had 34 including 20 prawns contributed by brother.

We couldnt resist eating it on the spot so we borrowed the pit from the chicken wing stall owner and BBQ the prawns ourselves. I stuffed 14 in and felt so queasy after that. Cannot imagine how Dar can have 30+ at one go..............
Being a 4D fan, we went to buy 3834 for Sunday and the third prize turns out to be 3832. Argh..... how i wish we caught 2 prawns lesser so as to be a few hundreds dollars richer.

Today, me and Ah Di went for PSP seaching together with the guys after our yoga class. Bot it @ $395, felt so happy as i got a new gadget so that i can play the interesting monkey game which qiao has and BE can use this to keep himself occupied while waiting for me after work - Killing two birds with one stone.

Sun Moon Dining @ Wheelock Place

Finally got a chance to meet up with Michie for dinner today, we decided to go Sun Moon Dining @ Wheelock Place. It was a nice get-together session - just realised it has been half a year since i last met her during her wedding in Oct'06. The food presentation looks so eye-catching till i cannot resist taking some pictures to post it here.

Our favourite salmon sashimi - looks so fresh and mouthwatering

Rainbow roll - Crab with mango and avocado sushi

Beef and scallop teppanyaki

Didnt manage to take the pic of our last dish - chicken, brocolli and potato with cheese and curry hotplate as we were so engrossed with our conversation. This is so yummy as they really put in lots of cheese which i simply love it, will taste even nice if curry is omitted as it doesnt seem to blend it with the cheesy taste.

Next to the restaurant is a handicraft shop which you can DIY your own scrapbook, photo album, etc... Looks so interesting and was tempted to sign up for the course so that i can make one for my wedding but it cost $280 for 4 lessons with materials. Aiyo it is so expensive, I will rather spend the money on more food or save for my honeymoon. Anyway i was thinking if a scrapbook/ guestbook is required for my wedding so that guests can sign and write their wishes on it but will i keep it in the store after a few years? If this is the case, then it will be a waste of time and effort. Can i add anything else to make it more valuable and interesting? with guests' photos? Hmmm.......

Jolin Tsai Dancing Diva Concert

Went Jolin Tsai Dancing Diva concert on Sat with 阿迪 & 小甜甜 which didnt turn out to be as impressive a performance as what i expect.... maybe bcoz i benchmark this with Mayday's where their performance can make all the audience so high and crazy. Anyway all thanks to 小甜甜 for purchasing the tickets and getting us good seats for the price which we are paying - can see her big b**bs haha =)

The stage looks so pathetic - initially we were thinking how she can dance on such limited space with her 12 dancers. Some hiccups during the performance - she did one and a half cartwheel when she wanted to do two?, sang the wrong lyrics, didnt have enough energy to hold her legs up high so in the end she put it down and held it up high again when the lights were still on. Read the newspaper today and realise that she actually expose her underwear while dancing as her pants was too loose, this is something which we didnt spotted.

The atmosphere gets a little bit better after she requested us to do the kallang wave and stand while she sang her fast dance tracks. I am so proud that i brought my unique lightsticks but i have to admit that i have coordination problem when it comes to moving it together with the music.

The only thing which i love most is the beautifully-designed seat which initials her name hanging in the air. The concert ended in 2 hours' time (relatively short) with her all-time favourite - 倒带

Back to my normal self

Finally i am back to my normal self - no troubles and worries, able to do things i like, spend time with those whom i love, sleep as i wish as I am no longer alone. Thanks to those who were there for me =)

Had a long weekend - Good Friday and Easter Day. Ate Easter Rabbit biscuit specially bought by taya from Marks and Spencer on Thurs, it is so yummy - taste like digestive biscuits with vanilla cream.

Together with others, we went 爱丽斯's house for a visit after work on Thurs. Had a sumptuous meal at the coffeeshop near her place and were treated with three different desserts at her house - Hashima with ginseng, chempedak cake and brownie. We were trying real hard to find out whats hashima made of... some of us guess it is frog's spe*m and others tot it is their saliva.. Finally got to know the answer from mama that it is actually frog's intestine. Didnt manage to eat the last dessert as BE had arrived to pick me up to go cycling.....

I sat on his bike and he cycled me to Dar's place, felt so sweet and romantic along the way although my b*tt hurts after some time. Then, we cycled to East Coast jetty to fish. Had problems casting the line as it will get "junk-co" (some fishing term indicating that the line got stuck to the sea bed) most of the time. Fell asleep while fishing as we caught nothing after 3 hours. It was fun even though we got nothing in the end as this is the thing which we missed out doing during our courtship days.

On Fri, we went for Easter high tea @ Merchant Court with mama. Nicer spread as compared to the lunch but too bad, they only serve durian puffs instead of the yummy durian puree during high tea. To ease my craving, i scrape out the filling and leave the puff untouched. =) At night, we went Sembawang/ Khatib intending to try prawn fishing at this new and beautiful place Bottletree.... but it was closed. So sad.... Will check it out again another time.
