Dining @ Per/e N0ire

Belated Birthday Treat for Junie @ Per/e N0ire, this restaurant is recommended by other food bloggers so we decided to give it a try.... Located besides the Cheesecake Place along Siglap area.

We were the only customers when we arrived @ about 7+. This place has a romantic setup with the lights along the walkway, i will much prefer that the promotion poster is not hung up high as it spoilts the whole ambience.

While waiting for Junie to go ladies, i had a brief chat with the waitress telling her that Junie is a food blogger with the intention of tasting her food and posting the reviews in her blog... Haha this makes the waitress so anxious as she is worried that it wont meet our expectations. She got Junie to write down her blog so that they can publicise to other diners... Sorry Junie that i create public awareness without your approval.

We ordered oysters for our appetisers. Their menu shows a variety or origin of oysters but they only have those from France and Canada. I am not sure if there is anything wrong with my taste bud but i cannot really taste the difference except aht the France oysters (bigger ones on the left of the pic) is salty and the Canada ones is sweeter. Frankly speaking, it is difficult for me to decide which is nicer as i am not a oyster expert. To me, it tastes nice as long as it is fresh.

Next we had foie gras with avocado japanese rice as our starters. Being an internal organ lover (sounds disgusting isnt it?), i love this dish. Dont understand what makes it relatively more expensive as compared to chicken liver, as both tastes similar except that foie gras will really melt in your mouth when you eat it. Yummy! Is bird flu the cause of making chicken unwanted and cheaper?

Anyway, here comes our main course for the day - Tenderloin stuffed with oyster wrapped with bacon, flavoured with red wine sauce and the highly recommended Pork rack with mash pumpkin... Personally i will prefer and recommend the pork rack as it is really tender and you can hardly find a pork main course which is as nice elsewhere.

We ended our meal with the dessert - Brownie coated with nuts and Ice cream.

Love chatting over dinner as it is only during this time when we can catch up with friends sharing things which have happened in our life over the years.
